Too much power for the President?

Again, it looks like the government is trying to give the President more power and this time it’s in cyber space. A new senate bill proposed would give the president a “kill switch” that would shut down private networks online access. People in Silicon Valley were quick to bash this bill and thankfully so.

Cyber Cazr Resigns

On Monday, the acting cyber czar, Melissa Hathaway resigned. From everything I’ve read, it sounds like she resigned out of frustration that nothing is getting done. Ms. Hathaway agreed to stay on for the first 60 to 90 days of the new administration to conduct a cyber security policy review and help create a road map for the new administration. She has completed these recommendations and according to the Wall Street Journal Article she has been “spinning her wheels” since. It is critical that the government moves forward and is actively tackling this issue and this is not a good sign.
