Last year Heartland Payment Systems suffered one of the largest data breaches of the year. As the 5th largest credit card processor in the country, Heartland disclosed in January that a hacker had gained access to the over 100 million transactions they process every month. Instead of staying quiet, their CEO Bob Carr has done the exact opposite. Carr is speaking out against data breaches and Heartland has also released a new terminal that encrypts data from the time the card is swiped until it reaches the bank.
